How To Change Your Mindset
Want six easy steps to learn how to change your mindset? Why should you change your mindset? A proper mindset is the difference between the life of your dreams and missing out on what you want to be, have, do, or become.
Mindset is everything. If you want to change your life, change your mind.
Step 1 – Recognize negative thoughts.
The first step to learn how to change your mindset is to recognize negative thoughts when they first start creeping up on you.
If you keep allowing that negativity into your mind it will become a full-blown problem. A problem will grow to be a whole lot more difficult to solve than if you would have stopped it in its early stages.
As soon as you feel negativity, change your attitude and you will feel so much better!
Focus On The Positive Instead Of The Negative
Look at all the positive things that are happening in your personal and professional life and focus on getting more of that.
When you catch yourself focusing on things that are not going your way, acknowledge it, and you will learn how to change your mindset to focus on what is going your way. Once you do that, you will begin learning how to change your mindset and have a whole new attitude.
I found myself speaking some negative things. I really wasn’t trying to be negative, just identifying some problems. I’m a problem solver so in order to solve a problem first, I have to identify it.
But instead of just identifying the problems, I put myself down. I shrugged it off to, “I can’t be good at everything”
I’m glad I identified what was causing the problem, and I’m even happier that I caught myself making an excuse!
When I was learning how to change my mindset, I implemented three possible solutions and BAM! problem solved. I’d like to add here that you do not have to be good at everything, of course not. Just don’t use it as an excuse for your problems!

Step 2 – Be a Problem Solver To Change Your Mindset
Our minds are so incredibly powerful they really can solve any problem. The number one thing I learned about solving a problem? If what you are doing isn’t working, try something else. Simple right? Being a problem solver is the second step to learn how to change your mindset.
I don’t know why, but when we are in the middle of a problem we don’t remember to simplify. When we are in the middle of a crisis we see our problem as an uncross-able mountain.
Learning how to change your mindset may look like a mountain, but it’s not impossible. When your problem looks huge, just remember that you are amazing and you can do anything!
Step 3 – Think outside the box.
Bend your thinking to see outside of the box. Bend your mind to come up with creative solutions.
In order to think outside the box, you have to have a quiet time to sit and listen to your thoughts. Your brain wants to create solutions. Once you have a creative solution your mindset will automatically change for the better!
Want to know how to change your mindset? Think outside the box! There are endless commotions and chatter competing for our attention. We often don’t give ourselves enough time to meditate on a solution.
Your beautiful brain is a giant computer and your out of the box solution is somewhere in your brain’s files. Spend some time to quietly think of your creative solution.
Step 4 – Give yourself some slack.
Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to accomplish things that it stresses you out. You are a human being with a finite amount of energy.
Give yourself permission to take a break and to make mistakes. We, humans, are sometimes our own worst critics!
Putting too much pressure on yourself is extremely exhausting. As long as you continue to work toward your goal and get a little bit better each day you will get there.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither your empire. So go easy, learn how to change your mindset and give yourself some slack and watch your mindset grow and improve.
Step 5 – Get out into nature.
When you are outside in fresh air it’s easy to gain perspective and change your attitude. Ideas pop into your mind, the outdoors make you more positive and negative feelings just melt away.
Find your happy place and spend some time there. Beside a babbling brook, on the beach or out kayaking with manatees.
It’s really hard to be negative or down when you are surrounded by majestic beauty. It’s amazing how much you can learn how to change your mindset and recharge when you are outdoors.
Animals are part of nature. Just looking out the window at a bird can help you relax.
Any way that you can enjoy the world, will help you improve your mindset. Learning how to change your mindset is liberating!
Take off your shoes and run through the grass or climb a tree for a different perspective. If you have a hammock, lie in it. Take a break; you deserve it.
Step 6 – Identify mind blocks.
This is a big one. Blocks are things that block you from something you want. There are all different kinds of blocks, money blocks relationship blocks, weight loss blocks and so much more.
The most common type of block is a money block. Everyone has some blocks. I personally had a money block I had to get rid of. My money block was worrying about having too much money and not being able to handle it.
I was sabotaging myself from being rich because I was worried about mismanaging my cash. This is a standard block. If you find yourself unable to save money, you may have it too!
It can take you a while to realize your blocks like it did me. I was never taught anything about money and I wasted money in the past.
I learned from my mistake but I never forgave myself for it or acknowledged the fact that I can handle money. What changed for me was I learned how to change my mindset.
Once I figured out where the block came from, forgave myself, and acknowledged the fact that I’m actually very good with money, the block disappeared.
Journaling can give you some clarity and help you find where your blocks are. Writing will help you learn how to change your mindset.
