Easily change your mindset.

Here are 6 easy steps to change your mindset. Why should you change your mindset? A good mindset can be the difference between the life of your dreams or missing out on what you are meant to be, have, do or become.

Mindset is everything. If you want to change your life, change your mind.

Step 1 – Recognize negative thoughts.

The first step to changing your mind is to recognize negative thoughts when they first start creeping up on you. If you keep allowing that negativity into your mind it will become a full blown problem. A problem that is going to be a whole lot more difficult to solve than if you would have stopped it in its early stages.

Focus on the positives instead of the negatives.

Look at all the positive things that are happening in your personal and professional life and focus on getting more of that. When you catch yourself focusing on things that are not going your way, acknowledge it and change your mindset to focus on what is going your way.

I found myself speaking some negative things. I really wasn’t trying to be negative, just identifying some problems. I’m a problem solver so in order to solve a problem first I have to identify it. But instead of just identifying the problems, I put myself down. I shrugged it off to, “I can’t be good at everything” 💁🏻. So instead of solving the problem I made an excuse.

I’m glad I identified what was causing the problem, and I’m even happier that I caught myself making an excuse! I implemented three possible solutions and BAM! problem solved.

If you haven’t downloaded it yet, download the free Problem Solver that I created just for my readers. It’s such a simple little tool, yet so effective!

Step 2 – Be a problem solver.

Our minds are so incredibly powerful they really can solve any problem. The number one thing I learned about solving a problem? If what you are doing isn’t working, try something else. Simple right?

I don’t know why, but when we are in the middle of a problem we don’t remember to simplify. When we are in the middle of a crisis we see our problem as an uncross-able mountain. It may be a mountain, but it’s not impossible!

Step 3 – Think outside the box.

Bend your thinking to see outside of the box. Bend your mind to come up with creative solutions. In order to think outside the box you have to have quiet time to sit and listen to your thoughts. Your brain wants to create solutions.

There is so much noise and chatter competing for our attention that we don’t give ourselves the time to meditate on a solution. Your brain is a giant computer and your out of the box solution is somewhere in your brain’s files. Quietly think of your creative solution.

Step 4 – Give yourself some slack.

Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to accomplish things that it stresses you out. You are a human being with a finite amount of energy. Give yourself permission to take a break and to make mistakes. We humans are our own worst critics sometimes!

Putting too much pressure yourself is extremely exhausting. As long as you continue to work toward your goal and get a little bit better each day you will get there. Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor your empire. So go easy and give yourself some slack and watch your mindset grow and improve.

Step 5 – Get out into nature.

When you are outside in fresh air it’s easy to gain perspective. Ideas pop into your mind, the outdoors make you more positive and negative feelings melt away.

Find your happy place and spend some time there. Beside a babbling brook, on the beach or like me it’s out kayaking with manatees. It’s really hard to be negative or down when you are surrounded by majestic beauty. It’s amazing how much you can recharge when you are outdoors.

Animals are part of nature. Just looking out the window at a bird can help you relax. Any way that you can enjoy nature will improve your mindset.

Step 6 – Identify mind blocks.

This is a big one. Blocks are things that block you from something you want. There are all different kinds of blocks, money blocks relationship blocks, weight loss blocks and so much more.

The most common type of block is a money block. Everyone has them. I personally had a money block I had to get rid of. My block was worrying about having too much money and not being able to handle it. I was sabotaging myself from being rich because I was worried about mismanaging my money. How crazy is that?

It took me awhile to realize why I had that block. I was never taught anything about money and I wasted money in the past. I learned from my mistake but I never forgave myself for it or acknowledged the fact that I can handle money. Once I figured out where the block came from, forgave myself and acknowledged the fact that I’m actually very good with money, the block disappeared.
