You can get motivated today. We have all had trouble with motivation from time to time. I don’t care who you are, some days we just feel like giving up. You want to pull the covers over your head and just quit. The difference is champions only feel like giving up, they don’t actually give up.
Life isn’t easy, it never will be. We all have had our moments when we felt like quitting. The trick is to stay motivated and push those unmotivated and “stuck” feelings aside.
Enjoy the Journey
I know this probably feels like a slap in the face when you are feeling stuck. But the journey is a learning experience, embrace it. You are being pushed out of your comfort zone for a reason. If you can overcome this obstacle your success is on the other side. Let me tell you a secret, there really are no shortcuts.
Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
You don’t know the work that someone has put into getting where they are. Sure some people have dumb luck and get success. But that’s their deal. Maybe success for you is just going to be harder than others. I don’t know why, but success is easier for some people. But you know what they say right? Easy come easy go. I’d rather have success be a little more difficult to obtain and then I can keep it FOREVER.
One of my favorite quotes is “Stop Comparing Your Beginning to Someone Else’s Middle.” I’d like to take that a step farther and say “Why compare yourself to anyone, ever?” There is always going to be someone thinner, younger, stronger than you are but you have something they don’t so stop comparing yourself to others
Spend Time With People Who Motivate You
Find the people who make you feel better after you have been with them and cherish them. Motivational people are not always easy to find. After you have spent time with someone you should feel refreshed and recharged. If you don’t, maybe rethink spending time with those people.
Books are Great Motivators
Think about books you have read in the past, which ones motivated you? Read them again. The books don’t have to give you any specific recipe for success as long as they motivate you. I like to go to sleep listening to audio books for motivation.
Some of my favorite Motivational Books Include:
Fabulosity By Kimmora Lee
You are A Badass At Making Money By Jen Sincero
Goals! By Brian Tracy
Podcasts are Free and Motivational, I personally love Dave Ramsey’s Podcast.
There are so many great podcasts out there. The best part? They are free! You can download them and listen to them anywhere. Find the podcasts that get you excited and motivate you and subscribe to them. Podcasts for motivation are huge for me.
Find and Celebrate Even The Little Wins
Not everything has to be a big huge win. There are small wins that you can celebrate. You just have to put some things into context. For example, maybe your goal is to make an extra $1000 a month, but you only made an extra $100. Instead of being down on yourself for not making the extra $900 celebrate the $100 as a win. That in turn can give you motivation to make more.
OK, lets face it if something isn’t working you can’t keep doing the same thing. Your brain is your most powerful weapon. Use it to figure out your next direction. You can’t do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying to throw in the towel, but you need to find what works for you. You can’t keep losing over and over at something and then expect to feel motivated.
Give yourself permission to chill and figure it out. Stop beating yourself up, stand back and look at the situation with fresh eyes.
Find a Mentor to Get Motivated
Find someone doing what you’d like to accomplish and pick their brain. A successful mentor can get you excited about your dreams and goals because they have already reached theirs. Mentors like to “Pay it forward” and help others because they had a mentor to help them.
I’m sure there is a Facebook group out there somewhere that you can find a mentor. There is a Facebook group for everything. You can also Google whatever type of mentor you are looking for.
Mentors are great for accountability and inspiration! I had a mentor for a business I had in the past and it was really successful. Without my mentor that would never have happened so easily. My mentor took years off of my learning curve.
Make a List of What Motivates You
There are so many different things that can help you get motivated. When you find something or someone to motivate you write it down. Keep a running list that you can refer to when life has got you down. Because one thing is for certain, life will always be there to try and punch you in the face, just be ready with something to block those punches.
Continually add to that list and one day someone will be using your story to get motivated!
Be sure and download the success affirmations at the end of this post, those are a great motivator too for when you are feeling down. Everyone feels down, champions get back up. What do you do to motivate yourself when you feel stuck? Let me know in the comments I’d love to hear about it.
